School Academics

The medium of Instruction in the school is ENGLISH. Regional language KANNADA and the national language Hindi are taught to all students up to the class of 8th. At 9th and 10th they can choose one of these two languages as the second language.

At the KG level, children are taught by play way method. Individual attention is given while teaching the children as the strength in each class is restricted to a maximum of 40 students. Activities are conducted to develop motor skills and speaking skills. Slow learners are given special care and remediation is done.

At the higher level a lot of importance is given to Life Skill activities in order to groom the present students into future responsible citizens who can comfortably fit into the society.

Various competitions both in literary and sports are regularly held to train the children in different skills.

Students also take an active part as members of different clubs such as Eco club, Literary Club, Sports Club, Science Club, Heritage Club etc., through these clubs the students conduct programmes to interact with the society. Students are exposed to the world outside through their visits to public places like police stations, banks, courts, hospitals, universities. Regular field trips, picnics, tours, and excursions also form their lessons in travel and tourism.

Quizzing is the most important area that interests the students. Students regularly participate in quiz competitions conducted at class, school, and inter-school levels. Students very fondly attend arts and craft classes where they are taught to sketch, paint, color, and draw various kinds of pictures. They also have a separate keyboard, Tabala, and classical vocal classes where their musical talents are nurtured.

As the school follows the CBSE syllabus CCE pattern of assessment is followed which will not burden the students with tests and examinations.

In order to create general awareness about the famous personalities and national leaders, various festivals, days and Jayantis like Independence Day, Republic Day, National Youth Day, Children’s Day, Teachers Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Science Day etc are celebrated.
Teachers are regularly trained in the latest methodology through various workshops and training sessions. They are also encouraged to enhance and update their knowledge and qualifications by taking further courses.

There is also a wing of scouts and guides which is looked after by trained scout and guide teachers. Students from 6th onwards take part regularly in the activities of scout and guide and have made the school proud by winning prizes for March past at District level. Three of our students have also received the RAJYA PURASKAR AWARDS by the governor.

All the students are divided into 4 houses AGHANASHINI, SHARAVATI, SHALMALA and KAALI. Each house has its own color and motto. Students take part in various inter-house competitions and the house which wins the maximum no of prizes will be considered as champion.
